CALL FOR MINI FILMA

The Mini Filma competition returns to the Biarritz Film Festival – NOUVELLES VAGUES.
Open to young people under 35, the Mini Filma competition invites you to tell the story of the ocean — your ocean — in a short film of up to 90 seconds.
Now more than ever under threat, the ocean, an essential life-supporting system of our planet, will be at the heart of the Festival. A full day will be dedicated to it: NOUVELLES VAGUES: Cinema & Oceans, featuring the Mini Filma competition.

A selection committee, composed of leading figures in ocean conservation, will select 10 Mini Filmas.
These will be published on YouTube, where the public will vote for the 2026 winner. The winning film will also be screened on June 25, during the day dedicated to the oceans, at the prestigious theatre of the Biarritz Casino Municipal.

Requirements:

Be under 35 years old in June 2026

A brief presentation of your project (a few lines)

A project no longer than 90 seconds

Only complete applications that meet the above criteria and are submitted between March 26 and May 21, 2026, at 11:59 PM will be reviewed by the selection committee.
