NOUVELLES VAGUES Grant – Barrière Foundation for the Development of a First Feature Film

The Grant is an initiative of the Biarritz Film Festival – NOUVELLES VAGUES and the Barrière Foundation, designed to support producer–filmmaker teams in the development of their first feature film project (the first feature film requirement applies only to the filmmaker), highlighting the themes and stories of new generations as well as the issues shaping today’s and tomorrow’s world.

After reviewing the applications, a selection committee made up of film industry professionals will choose four finalist projects. These projects will benefit from individual support in the form of mentoring sessions prior to the Festival, aimed at strengthening their application.

The projects will be presented publicly during the 4th edition of the Festival, which will take place in Biarritz from Tuesday 23 to Sunday 28 June 2026. A jury will designate the winning project, which will be awarded a grant worth €10,000.

WHO IS IT FOR?

A producer–filmmaker duo presenting a first live-action fiction feature film project, with majority French production, highlighting the concerns of new generations.
