Presentation of the finalist projects - NEW WAVES Grant - BARRIÈRE FOUNDATION

The NOUVELLES VAGUES – Barrière Foundation Grant supports producer-director teams in developing their feature film projects that highlight the themes and stories of new generations and address today’s and tomorrow’s global challenges.

Four projects have been selected by the Selection Committee of industry members: Xavier Hirigoyen (Head of Distribution - Le Pacte), Bénédicte Thomas (Manager - Arizona Distribution), and Alice Bloch (Producer - Marianne Productions).

The finalist projects will be presented publicly and in front of a jury of young students from the Basque Country, supervised by the Grant’s Patron, filmmaker Ramata-Toulaye Sy, whose debut feature Banel & Adama (2023) won the Culture Pass Jury Prize and the Student Jury Prize at the inaugural Biarritz Film Festival.

The winner will receive a €10,000 grant.

The event will be hosted by Agathe Berman, a “pitch coach.”

Youth in the spotlight 

The Biarritz Film Festival – NOUVELLES VAGUES and the Barrière Foundation aim to support early-stage projects that resonate with the festival’s core themes and values. The selection process is designed to promote new voices and reveal talents, with special attention to projects rooted in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, while leaving the final decision to the young members of the Grant Jury.
