OFFICIAL POSTER COMPETITION

The Biarritz Film Festival – NOUVELLES VAGUES is launching a competition for the creation of the official poster for its 4th edition, which will take place in Biarritz from June 23 to 28, 2026.
The competition is open to anyone under the age of 35.
Each applicant must submit the following materials before November 6, 2025:
A short personal presentation, freely written, expressing their vision and artistic approach.
A mood board featuring at least 4 to 5 visuals that represent their artistic universe.
A short pitch describing the concept for the poster they envision.
The poster should embody the values and identity of the Festival: youth, creativity, authenticity, boldness, international scope, and a festive spirit.
It should align with the Festival’s artistic direction and visual identity, and be inspired by the sunset and its associated color palette.
The design does not need to be strictly figurative — the sunset may be suggested or symbolically represented, while remaining a key element of the composition (see posters from previous editions).

Five candidates will be shortlisted for the final stage of the competition.
The five selected candidates will further develop their proposals in collaboration with the Festival team and must submit their final project by December 4th, 2025.
Only one candidate will be chosen to design the official poster for the 4th edition of the Biarritz Film Festival – NOUVELLES VAGUES.
The creator of the official poster for the 2026 edition will receive a fee of €4,000 (all taxes included), as in previous editions. The Festival is committed to ensuring equal pay for all contributors performing the same role, regardless of their level of experience or age.
