CALL FOR FILMS 2026

The call for films for the International Feature Film Competition is open from January 16 to March 31, 2026.

The International Competition is open to feature-length films that have not yet been released in theatres and that focus on youth.

At Nouvelles Vagues, we believe that cinema is renewed above all through youth — through its stories, perspectives, doubts, anger, but also through its momentum and energy.
Our central theme is therefore that of youth narratives.
Not only youth as an age, but youth as a turning point — a time of growth, questioning and transformation.

These are films that explore identity, desire, commitment and freedom — films that examine our times with a fresh, open and resolutely positive energy.

SELECTION COMMITTEE

The selection committee is composed of:

Lili Hinstin – Head of Programming
Mathilde Henrot – Deputy Head of Programming
Mia Grace Brown, Eduardo Carretié & Emmanuel Mayemba – Feature Films Selection

FEATURE FILM COMPETITION JURY

The Grand Prize, worth €10,000, shared between the filmmaker and the French distribution company, is awarded by an international jury of artists under the age of 35.
