CALL FOR SHORT FILMS 2026

The call for short films is open from January 16 to April 16, 2026.

In 2026, the Biarritz Film Festival – NOUVELLES VAGUES opens to short films with the launch of an International Short Film Competition.

The short film selection is open to fiction films not yet released in theaters, with a maximum running time of 20 minutes, directed by filmmakers under the age of 35.

All themes are accepted. By promoting the short film format and supporting emerging filmmakers, the Nouvelles Vagues Festival aims to spotlight young creation, celebrate innovative forms, and invest in the future of world cinema.

SELECTION & JURY

The short films will be selected by Arnaud Mizzon.
The gender-balanced jury, composed of four members, will award the prizes.
