
To get an official ID document for her higher education, Marina, adopted as a child, must reconnect with her paternal family, whom she does not know. Her arrival stirs up the past: by rekindling memories of her parents, she uncovers the family’s secrets and shame.

Carla Simón
Born in 1986
Born in 1986, Carla Simón lives and works in Spain. Her debut feature, Summer 93 (2017), won the Best First Feature Award at the Berlinale and three Goya Awards, and was Spain’s submission to the Oscars. Her second film, Alcarràs, won the Golden Bear at Berlin in 2022. Romeria was selected for the official competition at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival.
