11-year-old Paula has only one friend, Achille. Her father gives her a surprise – they will spend the summer in the house of her dreams by the lake. But as autumn approaches, they still don’t come back.

Born in 1977
After she studied philosophy and ethnology, Angela Ottobah went to Mozambique to direct her first short. She went on to shoot a documentary, a mid-length film before she started working on her first feature, PAULA, that earned her the Beaumarchais Award and the Special Prize from the Prix des Scénarios.
