
Naru, the only female camera operator at the city's leading local television channel, is fighting to retaincustody of her three-year-old son following her separation from her unfaithful husband. Convinced that there is no suchthing as a “good man” in her country, she finds herself working alongside the channel’s star journalist, who reluctantlyagrees to take her with him on assignment. As they travel across a capital city living through its final days of freedom, their relationship seems to take on a new dimension…

Afghan filmmaker Shahrbanoo Sadat directed her first feature film, Wolf and Sheep, followed by The Orphanage, both of which screened in at the Directors’ Fortnight at Cannes. Together with her most recent film, No Good Men, they form the first three chapters of a five-film cycle inspired by actor Anwar Hashimi’s unpublished autobiography and by thefilmmaker’s own life.
