
Hasna and Meriem leave Morocco for the first time. They travel to Andalusia as seasonal workers in strawberry greenhouses, hoping to provide a better life for their families. Very soon, they are confronted with the harsh reality of their situation. Together, they rise up against an entire system of exploitation — at the risk of losing everything.

Born in Casablanca, Laïla Marrakchi moved to Paris at 18 to study filmmaking. Her debut feature, Marock, screened in Un Certain Regard at Cannes in 2005 and became a classic of Moroccan culture. She later directed Rock the Casbah, as well as episodes of The Bureau, Damien Chazelle’s The Eddy for Netflix, and, most recently, the historical series Carême for Apple TV+.
