In a village in northern India, two childhood friends are determined to take the national police entrance exam, hoping to escape the discrimination they face because of their caste and religion. But as they get closer to their goal, mounting pressure threatens the bond between them.
Presented in Un Certain Regard at Cannes, Homebound is a tribute to friendship that tactfully and insightfully exposes the discrimination faced by minorities in Narendra Modi’s India.
