Produced by Penelope Cruz, who also stars, On the Fringe is a political thriller that takes place against a backdrop of evictions in Spain. Presented at the Venice and San Sebastian Festivals, the film garnered the Best Picture Award and the Youth Award at the Tudela Film Festival.

Juan Diego Botto Rota is a Spanish-Argentinian actor and director working both for film and the stage. He starred in films like 1492 : Conquest of Paradise (1992), The Europeans (2020) and The Suicide Squad (2021). On the Fringe is his first directorial effort.
