
Bangui. Robert is 17 and dreams of making a career in music. But he is not like other Central Africans: he is a Congolese refugee. When his parents are arrested, he is left to care for his four younger siblings on his own. He juggles odd jobs and studies for his baccalaureate exams, all while trying to avoid the militias terrorizing the city. One day, he learns about a music competition. Winning it becomes his only hope.

Born on November 17, 1997, in Uvira, Kivu (DRC), Fariala Alolea Albert grew up in the Central African Republic, where his family had taken refuge because of the war. He first gained recognition in 2013 with the song Je Suis Élève,under the name RAFIKI - RH2O. While studying economics, he directed Nous, Étudiants!, which was selected for the 2022 Berlinale and went on to win awards at numerous international festivals.
