
In a small Norwegian town, Elvira is a teenager of mixed Danish and Sámi heritage (a native people from the northern part of the country). Her life with her lesbian mother is turned upside down when her biological father reappears. Egil Pedersen's debut feature is a satirical exploration of identity in today's world. The Norwegian Film School was founded in 1997 and has been instrumental in the development of the Norwegian film industry. The school offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts, a Master of Fine Arts, and a PhD programme in artistic research. The BFA admits 42 students every two years in seven disciplines: directing, screenwriting, producing, cinematography, production design, editing, and sound. The MFA admits 20 students every two years, in fiction directing, documentary directing, screenwriting, producing and visual design.
Egil Pedersen
Born in 1976
Egil Pedersen graduated as a film director from The Norwegian Film School in 2002. He has directed 18 music videos, 15 short films, commercials, and corporate films. His latest short film, the satirical comedy Koftepolitiet (Indigenous Police) created lots of public debate and engagement in the Sami community. My father’s daughter is his first feature film both as a director and screenwriter.
