Banel and Adama are in love. They live in a small, remote village in northern Senegal, cut off from the world, and that’s all they’ve ever experienced. But the perfect love that connects them is put to the test by the community’s norms as in this village there is no room for passion, let alone for chaos. Much in vein with the most beautiful tales, this first feature feels like an epic poem and features an unforgettable heroine, a modern-day Antigone whose longing for empowerment is invaluable.
