Although 24-year-old Amanda never had any friends, that’s what she most longs for. When she accidentally comes across a girl she knew as a child, she tries to convince her they’ve been best friends forever. Amanda is a film about friendship that examines, through an absurd, sophisticated comedy, the contradictions of the young generation whose hyper-connectedness doesn’t protect them from loneliness. It’s funny, the dialogue is sharp and every scene is brilliant with two show-stealing actresses.

Carolina Cavalli
Born in 1990
Cavalli was born in Milan and works as a director and screenwriter for TV series and feature films. She wins the SFFILM Rainin Filmmaking Grant in 2017 for Fremont (Babak Jalali, 2022) and the Solinas Serie Award in 2018. In 2022, she published her first novel, and her first film Amanda was presented at the Venice film festival.
