The festival is also a place to meet with industry members and artists.

Two-person Workshops

Throughout the festival, workshops will take place with two members of the film industry to discuss issues about creation. They will include the festival’s industry members and particularly special guests and directors presenting a film of the “GAZTERIA” selection or a
gala evening premiere.

Meetings with industry members from the region – Premières Vagues

Nouvelle-Aquitaine sees a whole new generation of new productions. Nouvelles Vagues has partnered with the Fédération des Jeunes Producions Indépendants to offer young industry members two panels on creation and production challenges.

Meetings with distribution/exhibition industry members

A day of meetings with the industry members will take place during the festival to introduce the public to the various professions of the film industry and catch people’s attention. This special day is also a way for industry members to better understand the young audience’s
expectations.

Conversations

Nouvelles Vagues will address the topic of artificial intelligence and AI’s role in the creative industry – some people are excited about using this technology in the creative process, while others are worried about it. During the festival, a panel of industry members will talk about IA’s various challenges for creators and the latter’s ethics and future in creation.

Meetings between 64 Department crew members

In partnership with the Agence du Film 64, Nouvelles Vagues is committed to favoring meetings with Basque Country’s and Béarn’s crew members through an introduction to sustainable film production. Following the introduction, the festival will hold an informal meeting between crew members as experienced professionals will coach their younger counterparts in every trade.
